Harris' 46 yards helps Seahawks stop Chargers
SEATTLE - Franco Harris, who earned four Super Bowl championships with the Pittsburgh Steelers, said he learned a lot about his new club yesterday.  "Things really didn't get off very fast, did they?" Harris asked rhetorically.  "But when we got behind, we really showed the true character of the team."  There was a huge smile on his face in the Seahawks' dressing room following a 31-17 victory against the San Diego Chargers.  He gained 47 yards on 14 carries in his Seahawks' debut, giving him 11,996 yards in his career and moving him to within 317 yards of breaking Jim Brown's record.  Dave Krieg scored on a pair of runs in the second half, including a 37-yarder in the third quarter, and passed for another score to lead the Seahawks.  Meanwhile, the Seahawks forced San Diego to commit eight turnovers.  Fouts, playing without two of his best offensive weapons, was intercepted four times as Seattle improved its record to 2-0.  San Diego dropped to 1-1.  The Seahawks trailed, 10-0, after one quarter in their first game following a season ending knee injury to Curt Warner.  But they snapped a 10-0 halftime tie on Krieg's 37-yard scoring run on a scramble up the right side with 6:43 gone in the second half.  It was the longest run in Krieg's pro career.  The Chargers played without Chuck Muncie, serving a one game suspension for missing the team's flight to Seattle, and Kellen Winslow, who returned to the team Saturday after a five day retirement.
