Barry Bonds hit his first home run for the Giants as a San Francisco split squad routed the winless Mariners 9-1 Wednesday. Bonds' homer, a solo drive over the right-field fence off right-hander Erik Hanson, came with two outs in the third inning. It gave the Giants a 2-1 lead as they extended Seattle's losing streak to five. The Mariners dropped to 0-5 after being routed, 9-1, by the San Francisco Giants on Wednesday in front of 5,314 fans at Scottsdale Stadium. The Giants' Barry Bonds broke a tie at 1 in the third inning with his first home run. It was a shot off the light pole in right-center field. "Barry gave the fans what they came to see," said Giants Manager Dusty Baker, whose team improved to 2-4.
