Tartabull's 16th homer capped a six-run seventh inning that made it 9-2. Leyritz had a bases-loaded walk before Tartabull connected off Jeff Nelson. Leyritz hit a two-run homer during a three-run first inning. He hit another two-run drive, his 15th, in a five-run ninth. Wade Boggs went 4-for-4 and Bernie Williams had three hits for the Yankees, who scored 46 runs in the four-game set. Scott Kamieniecki (6-5) won his fith game in six career decisions against the Mariners. He allowed six hits, struck out six and walked four in 6-2/3 innings. Reggie Jefferson, with his eighth, and Tino Martinez, with his 13th , homered for the Mariners. The Yankees scored three in the first off John Cummings (1-4). Bernie Williams singled and Boggs double. Don Mattingly followed with an RBI grounder before Leyritz hit a two-run homer. With the Yankees leading 3-2, Gerald Williams singled with one out, took second on a wild pitch and third on a fly out. Bernie Williams followed with an RBI single to center and Boggs walked. Bernie Williams went to third on another wild pitch by Cummings, who was relieved by Kevin King. King walked Mattingly and Leyritz to force in a run and was lifted for Jeff Nelson, who then gave up Tartabull's slam. Notes -- Tarabull's grand slam was his first this season and 10th of his career... The Yankees have hit five grand slams this season, tying them with Detroit for the most in the majors.
